Those who ignore the workers will have to lose power

Karnal: Workers play a decisive role in the development of the state, but instead of listening to their voice , the government is bent upon suppressing them.  Mazdoor Lalkar Rally warned the government that those who ignore the workers will have to lose power.

The speakers said this while addressing the state level Mazdoor Lalkar Rally here at Karnal. Thousands of laborers, project workers and  workers from the state reached this rally organized at HUDA Ground near Mini Secretariat.

The rally was mainly addressed by CITU National Secretary A R Sindhu, State General Secretary Jai Bhagwan, President, Surekha, Khet Mazdoor Union National General Secretary A Vijay Raghavan, State General Secretary Prem Chand, President Jagmal Singh.  Trade Union leaders said that the BJP government has brought four labor codes to enslave the workers.  They said that the minimum wages should have been revised three years ago.  By not doing this, workers’  are being looted and capitalists are being benefited.  Instead of resolving the demands of the striking Asha workers in the state, repression is being let loose. The same measures were adopted against Anganwadi workers in the past.  Be it scheme workers or non regular employees of the government departments, their demands and problems are constantly being ignored.  Due to huge budget cuts in MNREGA by the BJP government, neither work is being provided nor wages are being paid for the work done.  The Welfare Board made for Construction Workers has been paralyzed, due to which 17 lakh workers of the state are suffering.  In the name of Family Identity Card, BPL ration cards of about 9 lakh 50 thousand families were cut in the state, most of which are labourers.  This is a result of cuts in the food security budget.  Be it organized or unorganized sector, migrant laborers who have a major contribution in the development of the state, the laws made for them have been abolished and they are being deprived of all facilities.  The urban and rural labor population is facing the problem of housing.
They said that the BJP government is bent upon destroying the public and government sectors of the country and is handing over all these to the big corporates.  Instead of permanent recruitment of employees, money is being looted in the name of contract or Haryana Kaushal Rojgar Nigam.  The New Education Policy 2020 is a ploy to drive the majority of the population of the country out of education.  They said that in the name of schemes like Ayushman Bhava, the government exchequer is being transferred to private hospitals.  The infrastructure of government health services is being consciously destroyed. Workers leaders said that the Electricity Bill 2023 is meant to benefit private companies and is meant to rob the common people of their hard-earned money.  To hide its failure, the state government is thinking of coming to power by creating an atmosphere of communal and caste polarization among the public.  The people of Haryana have rejected this conspiracy in Nuh.  Democratic rights of the people and independent media are being attacked.

The rally was attended by State President of Sarv Karmachari Sangh Dharamveer Phogat, State President of Kisan Sabha Balbir Singh, labor leaders Satveer Singh, Surendra Singh, Ramkumar Bahbalpuriya, Satpal Saini, Jagpal Rana, union leaders Sunita, Saroj, Urmila Rawat, Deviram, Rammehar, Vijay.  , Kaliram etc. also addressed.  All the speakers demanded that the state government should immediately call a meeting on the demand letter of labourers, scheme workers and raw employees and resolve their demands.  He demanded that the minimum wage in the state should be revised to Rs 26000, the facilities of the majority deprived sections should be restored on the pretext of family ID, contract system should be abolished and all the raw employees and project workers should be confirmed, 200 days work in MNREGA and 600 days wages should be given.  Rupees are daily wage.  A welfare board should be formed to ensure social security for all daily wage laborers including agricultural labourers.  Labor Codes, Electricity Bill 2023, New Education Policy 2020 should be withdrawn.
